How to use the Surgical Workflow (GA Chart)

Creating your surgery case list for the day will streamline your workflow and bring consistency to the team. The surgery list can easily be created by using the VetCheck GA chart. Under Active Patients, the GA tab is where you will find your surgical workflow.

Set up the procedure details

Filling in the following details to appear on the active patient list:

• Procedure description
• Procedure date
• Vet
• Vet nurse
• Procedure status
• Location
• Important alerts e.g. NPO, DNR, call owner before proceeding, do not exceed estimate

Pre surgery exam details

Completing the pre exam performed and pre GA bloods performed time will automatically appear on the active patient list.

Pre med details

Completing the pre med time will automatically appear on the active patient list.

Times details

Completing the anesthetic start and finish will automatically appear on the active patient list.

Post surgery & Prepare for Discharge

Completing the post GA time performed and Catheter out time will automatically appear on the active patient list.

To go home

When the pet is ready to go home, the procedure status can be updated to "to go home".

It will then be removed from the GA chart tab and relocated to the "To go home" tab.
